Authorities and public figures have issued warnings about a surge in scams circulating on WhatsApp and other platforms. The Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum specifically cautioned against false messages promoting a supposed government program called “Bono Mujeres,” which scammers use artificial intelligence to exploit. The police have also alerted the public about a dangerous WhatsApp scam that threatens to block users' accounts and lead to further harm. Additionally, a widespread scam demanding payment within 24 hours has caused considerable disruption during the summer. Social media platforms have seen fake news and phishing campaigns, including fraudulent emails related to the Rainbow AI project, which have been confirmed as phishing attempts. These developments highlight increasing cyber threats and fraudulent activities targeting users through messaging apps and social networks.
⚠️ PSA: Some community members are receiving emails claiming you've "completed the Rainbow waitlist" and inviting you to "Meet Rainbow AI" / claim a certificate. This is a phishing campaign. We did not send these. Delete the email and do not click any links.
