During the administration of Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), 5.8 million people have overcome housing deficits in Mexico. The National Housing Commission (Conavi) has launched a registration process to provide access to 500,000 homes, prioritizing vulnerable groups such as women heads of household, elderly individuals, indigenous populations, and people with disabilities. Additionally, Infonavit offers the 'Unamos Créditos' program, which allows individuals to combine financing options to facilitate home acquisition. Despite a national slowdown in the housing market, 23 Mexican states have experienced above-average price growth. In contrast, international trends show that while rising interest rates have led to declines in house prices in countries like Canada and Sweden, U.S. housing prices have remained resilient. Meanwhile, in Japan, housing loan balances have reached record highs for the 15th consecutive year, attributed to rising home prices despite increased interest rates.
