The Cutzamala system, the primary source of potable water for the Valley of Mexico, has reached a storage level exceeding 70%, according to recent reports. In parallel, the Mexican government and the Confederation of Commerce, Services and Tourism (Concanaco) have launched the "Viernes Muy Mexicano" program. This initiative, set to occur on the last Friday of each month, aims to boost local consumption by offering discounts and special experiences at family-owned and neighborhood businesses. The program is part of a broader national strategy that includes cities such as Mexico City, Monterrey, and Querétaro, with a goal to save 2.5 billion liters of water annually. Canacope Monterrey has also joined the effort to promote local commerce. Additionally, the government has initiated 17 projects focused on water access, including field technification, river sanitation, and rescue efforts, reinforcing water as a human right.
