Mexico's Foreign Minister Juan Ramón de la Fuente stated that the recent suspension of U.S. visas for foreign truck drivers will not affect Mexican truckers, as their B visas are protected under the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (T-MEC). The Mexican government highlighted a 91% reduction in migrant flow at the U.S.-Mexico border, with numbers dropping from 3,640 migrants on October 1, 2024, to 285 as of August 20, 2025, according to the Secretariat of Foreign Affairs (SRE). Additionally, de la Fuente noted that most recent diplomatic appointments have been filled by members of the Mexican Foreign Service.
