Since August 18, 2025, Israeli forces have intensified military operations across the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank, resulting in numerous casualties and widespread destruction. In Gaza, Israeli air and artillery strikes have targeted residential neighborhoods including Sabra, Al-Amal, Jabalia al-Balad, Khan Younis, Deir al-Balah, and Al-Nuseirat refugee camp. These attacks have killed at least 81 Palestinians in a single day, with reports indicating that many victims were civilians, including children and aid seekers. A notable casualty is Palestinian journalist Islam Al-Koumi, who was killed along with his son in an airstrike on the Sabra neighborhood; his death raises the total number of Palestinian journalists killed since October 2023 to 239. Israeli strikes have also destroyed displacement camps, notably a 200-family tent camp in Deir al-Balah, leaving thousands homeless. In the occupied West Bank, Israeli occupation forces have conducted raids and stormed multiple towns and villages including Al-Mughayyir, Beita, Salem, Burin, Bethlehem, and Nablus. These incursions have involved arrests, house searches, and the uprooting of over 8,000 olive trees in Al-Mughayyir, which has been heavily militarized and turned into a base for Israeli forces. The ongoing military operations have caused significant damage to Palestinian homes, infrastructure, and agricultural lands, contributing to a deepening humanitarian crisis in the region.
