Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was removed from Tuesday night’s game after experiencing tightness in his left hamstring, the club said. Manager John Schneider told reporters the 25-year-old slugger would undergo an MRI later in the evening “to rule everything out,” with the team awaiting results before determining whether a stint on the injured list is necessary. Guerrero, a three-time All-Star and cornerstone of Toronto’s lineup, has appeared in every game for the Blue Jays this season. His departure leaves the club awaiting clarity on how long it might be without its leading run producer as it pushes for postseason contention. The setback follows a similar incident two days earlier in Boston, where Red Sox right fielder Wilyer Abreu exited a loss to the Miami Marlins with right calf tightness. Abreu, whose 22 home runs top the team, said he was optimistic he would avoid the injured list but expected to miss the upcoming two-game series against Baltimore while monitoring the injury day-to-day.
