The Milwaukee Brewers placed All-Star closer Trevor Megill on the 15-day injured list after imaging revealed a Grade-1 flexor strain in his right arm. Megill, who owns a 2.54 ERA and 30 saves across 49 appearances, said there is no ligament damage and hopes to return after the minimum stint, but flexor issues often linger and could affect Milwaukee’s postseason bullpen plans. The National League-leading club signed veteran right-hander Erick Fedde for the balance of the season to fill the roster spot. Separately, the Chicago White Sox sidelined center fielder Luis Robert Jr. with a Grade-2 strain of his left hamstring, placing the 28-year-old on the 10-day injured list. General Manager Chris Getz acknowledged the recovery could run “several weeks,” putting Robert’s availability for the remainder of the season in doubt. Robert is hitting .223/.297/.364 with 14 home runs, 53 RBIs and 33 stolen bases in 110 games, and has produced a .298 average since the All-Star break.
