Former American League Most Valuable Player Mo Vaughn is returning to the baseball conversation with the launch of “MVP: The Mo Vaughn Podcast,” a weekly program produced in partnership with youth-scouting group Perfect Game. The show debuts on 21 August and will release new episodes every Thursday at 5 a.m. ET on major podcast platforms, followed by noon streams on Vaughn’s YouTube channel and 8 p.m. airings on PerfectGame.TV and the PGTV app. Vaughn is joined by ESPN Radio personality Brendan Tobin. Initial bookings include former Boston Red Sox star David Ortiz, ex-All-Stars Rafael Palmeiro and Nomar Garciaparra, and former MLB commissioner Bud Selig. Vaughn, 57, says the format will blend candid discussions of the game from youth levels to the majors with reflections on his 12-year career. The venture adds another high-profile name to a growing roster of current and retired athletes using podcasts to bypass traditional media and speak directly to fans while creating new revenue and branding opportunities.
