Actor Hayden Christensen, known for portraying Anakin Skywalker in the Star Wars franchise, threw the ceremonial first pitch and later joined his daughter in the broadcast booth to lead "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" during the Chicago Cubs’ home game against the Pittsburgh Pirates at Wrigley Field on 15 August. Midway through the seventh-inning stretch, a fighter jet practicing for this weekend’s Chicago Air and Water Show roared over the ballpark, briefly startling Cubs players and interrupting the on-air performance. Christensen and the Marquee Sports Network crew paused before resuming the traditional sing-along. Play resumed quickly, but the night ended in disappointment for the home side. Pittsburgh’s Jack Suwinski broke a 2–2 tie with a ninth-inning home run, giving the Pirates a 3–2 victory.
