IllFonic, the developer known for the Friday the 13th game series, has announced a new multiplayer survival horror title titled "Halloween: The Game," set for release in 2026 on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. The game will feature both single-player and multiplayer modes, including a standalone single-player story mode that explores the narrative events surrounding "The Night He Came Home" through the perspective of Michael Myers. The multiplayer component will be an asymmetric 1v4 stealth horror experience where players can assume the role of Michael Myers or civilians attempting to protect townsfolk in Haddonfield. The game was revealed at the Future Games Show during Gamescom 2025, with IllFonic collaborating with John Carpenter, the original creator of the Halloween franchise. This project marks a shift from IllFonic's previous focus on Jason Voorhees to the iconic slasher Michael Myers. The announcement received coverage highlighting IllFonic's expertise in horror games and the game's promise to bring a fresh perspective to the genre.
