LEGO's Latest Sets Have Landed – But You'll Want To Be Quick If You Want To Bag One https://t.co/iFkZOsOYX7
The LEGO Group has unveiled a Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory construction set, the latest fan-designed project to graduate from the company’s LEGO Ideas programme. Created by Italian builders Roberto Ceruti and Jody Padulano, the detailed model recreates the film’s chocolate river, the Wonkatania boat and other scenes, complete with mini-figures of Willy Wonka, Charlie Bucket, the four golden-ticket winners and a pair of Oompa-Loompas. The 2,199-piece set—which includes a motorised chocolate waterfall—will sell for $219.99. Pre-orders open on 21 August, with general availability at LEGO Stores and the company’s website scheduled for 18 September. The launch targets adult collectors and nostalgia-driven fans of the 1971 film and Roald Dahl’s original book, extending LEGO’s strategy of pairing classic entertainment franchises with premium, display-oriented kits.
