Warner Bros.’ horror thriller “Weapons” opened with an estimated $5.7 million from Thursday night previews, giving director Zach Cregger his strongest debut to date and positioning the film to lead the domestic box-office race this weekend. The figure outpaced Disney’s “Freakier Friday,” which collected about $3.1 million in its own previews, and topped the Thursday openings of 2025’s other high-grossing horror titles, including “Sinners” ($4.7 million) and “Final Destination Bloodlines” ($5.5 million). Industry trackers expect both new releases to finish the frame near $30 million, with “Weapons” currently projected to land in the low-to-mid-$30 million range. Beyond the two new wide releases, Warner Bros.’ “Superman” added to its haul, reaching roughly $565.5 million worldwide through Thursday. Among smaller pictures, Angel Studios’ “Sketch” grossed $0.53 million on Thursday for a $2.49 million domestic total, while NEON’s “Together” earned $0.59 million, lifting its domestic take to $14.61 million.
