BBC Issues Fresh Statement About Why Ozzy Osbourne Doc Was Pulled From Schedules https://t.co/g2x5aTS3EF
The BBC has postponed the one-hour documentary “Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home” at the request of the late rock musician’s family, the broadcaster said on Tuesday. The film had been slated to air on BBC One on 18 August but was pulled from the schedule just hours before transmission and replaced by a repeat of the arts programme “Fake or Fortune.” In a statement the corporation said it was “respecting the family’s wishes to wait a bit longer before airing this very special film,” adding that a new broadcast date will be announced in due course. The documentary, recorded over three years, chronicles Osbourne’s final months, including his farewell concert at Birmingham’s Villa Park two weeks before his death from a heart attack on 22 July at age 76. Initially conceived as a 10-part series, the project was condensed into a single film after Osbourne’s health deteriorated following a Parkinson’s diagnosis and spinal surgeries. The programme features contributions from his wife Sharon and children Kelly and Jack, offering what producers describe as an intimate account of the singer’s last chapter.
