Chance the Rapper has released “Starline,” his first full-length studio album in six years. The 17-track project, which became available on streaming platforms late 14 Aug. in the United States, features an extensive roster of collaborators including Young Thug, Lil Wayne, Jay Electronica, Jazmine Sullivan, Joey Bada$$, Vic Mensa, BJ the Chicago Kid, Smino, TiaCorine and others. The rollout anchors a crowded release day for hip-hop and R&B. Indonesian-American rapper Rich Brian issued his new LP, “Where Is My Head?,” with guest appearances from Ski Mask the Slump God, Toro y Moi, Maxo Kream and Redveil, while emerging artist GATS put out “Life on Film,” produced by Chasethemoney, Black Metaphor and Jordan Patrick. Industry publication Billboard highlighted the wave of titles in its Friday music guides, underscoring a mid-August slate that also sees fresh singles from Cardi B and other pop and dance acts.
