The City of Georgetown, Texas, issued a boil water notice on Saturday after a water main break—believed to be linked to recent flooding—caused low or no pressure in several neighborhoods along the Interstate 35 corridor. The advisory applies to North Old Town/North Addition, Parkview Estates, Katy Crossing, Stillwater, Crystal Knoll, Villages of Berry Creek, Golden Oaks, Reatta Trails, Country Club and Rivery. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality requires the notice while crews repair the break and restore normal pressure. Residents are instructed to bring tap water to a vigorous rolling boil for at least two minutes before using it for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth or washing hands. The city will notify customers when testing confirms the water is safe and the advisory is lifted. Those experiencing outages not shown on the city’s map are urged to call 512-930-3640.
