Phoenix Mercury forward Alyssa Thomas registered her seventh triple-double of the 2025 campaign in a road victory on 27 Aug., eclipsing the single-season record she set only four days earlier. The 33-year-old finished with 12 points, 16 rebounds, 15 assists and three steals, becoming the first player in WNBA history to post at least 15 rebounds and 15 assists in the same game. The latest performance lifts Thomas to 17 regular-season triple-doubles for her career—more than quadruple the next-closest player on the all-time list. She recorded her sixth triple-double of the season on 23 Aug. against the Golden State Valkyries, when she handed out a franchise-record 16 assists to go with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Thomas’s unprecedented run has solidified her status as the league’s statistical outlier and positioned her as a leading contender for the 2025 Most Valuable Player award while keeping Phoenix in the playoff hunt.
