The University of Miami released its 2025 football schedule, headlined by a prime-time opener against national runner-up Notre Dame on 31 August at Hard Rock Stadium and a high-profile visit from Florida on 20 September. The Hurricanes will play only four true road games, the toughest coming at Florida State on 4 October and at Pittsburgh in the regular-season finale on 29 November. Two mid-season byes bracket the trip to Tallahassee, giving Miami added recovery time before an ACC stretch that features Louisville, Stanford and a visit to SMU. Coach Mario Cristobal said the condensed travel slate and early showcase games give Miami a chance to “set the tone nationally” after falling just short of last year’s College Football Playoff. Cristobal confirmed Georgia transfer Carson Beck, returning from elbow surgery, as the starting quarterback and outlined a rebuilt receiving corps spearheaded by sophomore Joshisa Trader and transfers CJ Daniels and Tony Johnson. Former TCU centre James Brockermeyer anchors an offensive line that returns four other starters. Defensive coordinator Corey Hetherman inherits a unit that surrendered at least 28 points in seven games last season. Edge rusher Rueben Bain Jr. and linebacker Wesley Bissainthe headline a front seven bolstered by transfer additions in the secondary, including Xavier Lucas and Charles Brantley. Miami opens the campaign ranked No. 10 in several early polls, and players have made no secret of their goal to secure the programme’s first CFP berth. A win over either Notre Dame or Florida would strengthen that case before the Hurricanes enter the ACC gauntlet.
