The Los Angeles Chargers have waived rookie wide receiver Brenden Rice, according to multiple reports late Monday. Rice, 22, entered the league this offseason as an undrafted free agent after finishing his collegiate career at Southern California. The team is reportedly interested in signing Rice to its practice squad should he clear waivers. Rice is the son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Jerry Rice, the NFL’s all-time leader in receptions, receiving yards and touchdown catches.
