The Washington Commanders removed wide receiver Terry McLaurin from the physically unable to perform list on Saturday, clearing the two-time Pro Bowl selection to rejoin practice less than a month before the regular-season opener. McLaurin, who turns 30 in September, had been sidelined since reporting to training camp on 27 July with an ankle issue and accrued about $200,000 in fines during his holdout. The roster move does not address the stalled contract negotiations that led to McLaurin’s brief absence. He is entering the final season of his three-year, $68.4 million deal, which pays an average $22.8 million—17th among NFL receivers—and is seeking a multiyear extension or possible trade. Offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury said this week that practice time is running short for the team’s top target to prepare for the 7 September home opener against the New York Giants.
