Miami Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel said wide receiver Tyreek Hill returned to limited practice on Thursday and remains on course to start the Sept. 7 season opener against the Indianapolis Colts. Hill, who had been held out for several weeks with an oblique injury, "looks great," McDaniel told reporters, adding that the club’s medical staff wanted to avoid any setback before Week 1. Running back Jaylen Wright will not be available for the opener after undergoing what McDaniel described as a "small procedure." Although the injury is not considered season-ending, the rookie is expected to miss at least the first part of the schedule. To bolster depth, Miami re-signed Jeff Wilson Jr. and added veteran JaMycal Hasty, leaving Ollie Gordon III and De'Von Achane—recovering from a calf issue but expected back for Week 1—as the only other healthy backs on the roster. Tight end Darren Waller, who reversed his 2024 retirement earlier this summer, has progressed to full group drills for the first time in training camp. McDaniel said Waller is "right where we want him" and remains in the plans for the opener, though the team is monitoring his conditioning after a year away from football.
