The New York Jets reshaped their defensive-tackle rotation on Wednesday with two late-round draft-pick trades completed within a few hours. In the first deal, the Jets obtained Jowon Briggs and a 2026 seventh-round selection from the Cleveland Browns in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round pick. Briggs, a 2024 seventh-round choice, registered 13 tackles and two quarterback hits in six games for Cleveland last season. New York then reached a separate agreement with the Minnesota Vikings, acquiring veteran Harrison Phillips and a 2027 seventh-round pick while sending a 2026 sixth-rounder and a 2027 sixth-rounder to Minnesota. The moves give head coach Robert Saleh additional depth behind Pro Bowl interior lineman Quinnen Williams as clubs approach the league’s late-August roster-cut deadline.
