NEW REPORTS: The Raiders traded their fifth-round 2026 pick for quarterback Kenny Pickett. Was this the right call? https://t.co/zkahTxKh47

The Las Vegas Raiders have acquired quarterback Kenny Pickett from the Cleveland Browns in exchange for a 2026 fifth-round draft pick, the clubs confirmed Monday. Pickett, 27, is expected to slot in as Geno Smith’s primary backup after Aidan O’Connell was sidelined for six to eight weeks with a fractured wrist. The former first-round pick has appeared in 30 NFL games, starting 25, and has completed slightly more than 62% of his passes while compiling a 15–10 record as a starter. The trade ends Pickett’s five-month stay in Cleveland, which had obtained him from Philadelphia in March. According to NFL Network, he joins Sam Howell as only the second quarterback in three decades to be traded at least three times within his first four seasons. Cleveland will move forward with veteran Joe Flacco and rookies Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders at quarterback, while Las Vegas parts with a late-round pick in 2026 to shore up depth ahead of the regular season.
