Sports commentator Skip Bayless is returning to regular on-air debate, joining former NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas for a new digital football program, “The Arena: Gridiron.” The show, produced and owned by gaming-and-media outfit Underdog, is scheduled to premiere on Monday, Sept. 1, and will stream three times a week on Arenas’s rebranded YouTube channel, “The Arena presented by Underdog.” The panel includes former NFL cornerback Aqib Talib and former Washington Commanders head coach Jay Gruden, with social-media personality Kinsey Wolanski moderating. Retired defensive tackle Gerald McCoy and former quarterback Cody Kessler are slated as recurring guests. Bayless, 73, left Fox Sports’ FS1 in 2024 after a long run on “Undisputed” and earlier stints with ESPN’s “First Take.” For Arenas, the venture extends a media portfolio that already features the popular basketball show “Gil’s Arena.” Underdog, launched in 2020, is expanding beyond fantasy gaming as it bankrolls original sports content to attract digital audiences.
