The Minnesota Vikings are actively pursuing a veteran wide receiver before the 2025 NFL season kicks off, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. The search follows a three-game suspension for projected No. 2 receiver Jordan Addison and injuries to Jalen Nailor, who is week-to-week with a hand issue, and star Justin Jefferson, who only recently returned from a hamstring strain. No deal is imminent, but team officials are “seriously exploring” options as the roster must be trimmed in six days. The San Francisco 49ers are making a parallel push for receiver help, The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reported. San Francisco has contacted at least five clubs after losing Brandon Aiyuk until roughly Week 6 with knee ligament tears and sitting Jauan Jennings, Jordan Watkins and Jacob Cowing for the preseason finale. The 49ers previously tried to acquire former Texans wideout John Metchie III, who was instead dealt to Philadelphia. Both clubs hope to shore up depth ahead of Week 1 amid a league-wide uptick in receiver inquiries that also includes the New York Jets.
