Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson resumed practice on Monday, ending a 25-day layoff caused by a grade-1 strain in his left hamstring picked up early in training camp. Reporters on site said the three-time Pro Bowler took part only in individual drills as the medical staff eases him back to full activity. Head coach Kevin O’Connell told media that the club will "ramp up" Jefferson’s workload over the next three weeks, with the Sept. 8 season opener at the Chicago Bears "for sure the target" for a full return. "It feels great to get back into the normal routine," Jefferson said after the session. Jefferson’s availability is critical for Minnesota, which could be without fellow receivers Jordan Addison (league suspension) and Jalen Nailor (hand fracture) in Week 1. The 2022 Offensive Player of the Year has amassed 7,432 receiving yards—an NFL-record 96.5 per game—through his first five seasons, already ranking fourth on the franchise’s all-time list.

Good chance both Jordan Addison (suspension) and Jalen Nailor (hand fracture? Surgery?) will be OUT Week 1. Justin Jefferson, who just returned to practice today after missing 25 days with a grade 1 hamstring strain, will serve as the WR1. The Vikings will be short-handed at https://t.co/8AsrVlgnF8
Justin Jefferson on returning to practice: "It feels great to get back into the normal routine of being with the guys, being in the workouts, being in practice and walkthroughs. I've been itching for it. Just glad that I'm feeling great again and back to being with the guys."
