
Crypto: The Game, a Survivor and Squid Game-style virtual competition, has launched its third season, titled 'Resurrection Island,' under the Uniswap Labs umbrella. The season introduces new gameplay mechanics, including high-stakes on-chain challenges that allow eliminated players to re-enter the competition, modeled after the 'Last Chance Kitchen' concept from Top Chef. Season 3 features 800 players assigned to 10 tribes, competing in daily elimination challenges such as classic arcade games, digital scavenger hunts, and crypto puzzles. The winner will claim the entire prize pool, which could reach up to 80 Ethereum (ETH), worth approximately $180,000, based on ticket sales. Tickets for the game are sold as NFTs on Uniswap's Ethereum layer-2 network, Unichain, priced at 0.1 ETH each. The season also includes collaborations with Web3 entities like Farcaster for custom challenges and a companion podcast hosted by Boys Club. This marks the first season under Uniswap Labs, which acquired the game in June 2024. Previous seasons saw a prize pool of $115,000 and sold out all 800 tickets.
