Speculative activity around Solana-based meme coins accelerated this week after Pump.fun’s native PUMP token extended its rebound. The token changed hands near $0.0034 on Wednesday, about 35% higher than a week ago and up more than 45% from the late-July low, according to market-tracking sites. Pump.fun, which raised $600 million in a lightning-fast token sale on 14 July, has been using launch-pad revenue to buy back PUMP daily. The project says it has spent roughly $23 million so far and still controls a treasury close to $2 billion. The aggressive support helped the platform reclaim 55% of daily trading volume in Solana’s meme-coin segment, overtaking rival LetsBonk. Gains in PUMP spilled over to other tokens launched on the platform. TROLL hit a fresh all-time high near a $180 million market value after a 50% intraday jump. Blockchain data show early TROLL holders sitting on gains of up to 1,300-times their initial outlay, including one wallet that turned $2,900 into about $3.78 million within three months. Another address reportedly flipped $120 into $763,000, underscoring the extreme volatility that continues to draw retail traders. The meme-coin surge comes as the wider digital-asset market inches back toward a $4 trillion capitalization amid modest advances by Bitcoin and Ethereum. Analysts caution that technical indicators for PUMP, such as a Relative Strength Index hovering below the overbought threshold, leave room for further upside but also highlight the risk of sharp reversals typical of newly issued tokens.
