The Sandbox, a subsidiary of Animoca Brands, has launched its own decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) called The Sandbox DAO. This new governance structure will enable $SAND token holders and $LAND owners to participate in decision-making processes, shaping the game's aesthetics and interactivity through voting in Game Jams and VoxEdit contests. The DAO will have an $11 million annual budget and a treasury of 25 million SAND tokens. The transition to a more decentralized model aims to empower innovation and collaboration within the Ethereum-based metaverse game. Sebastien Borget and Yat Siu have been promoting the benefits of DAO at the NFC Summit.
