
Three United Kingdom nationals have been charged in connection with the 'Evolved Apes' NFT scam. The individuals, Mohamed-Amin Atcha, Mohamed Rilaz Waleedh, and Daood Hassan, are accused of defrauding victims into purchasing digital artwork known as the 'Evolved Apes' collection of non-fungible tokens (NFTs). The scheme, which took place in 2021, allegedly involved wire fraud and money laundering, resulting in losses of approximately $3 million. The scam, described as an Ethereum NFT rug pull, was announced by the Southern District of New York (SDNY).
