North Korea has told travel agency Young Pioneer Tours that journalists, social-media influencers and other content creators will not be allowed to join a week-long tourist trip centred on the Pyongyang Autumn International Trade Fair, scheduled for 24 October–1 November. The directive was described by YPT co-founder Rowan Beard as a "specific request" from the North Korean authorities, who have not indicated when they might reopen the country to official media delegations. Priced at €3,995 ($4,704) per person, the itinerary departs from Beijing and includes access to the trade fair, where more than 450 booths are expected to showcase machinery, consumer goods and pharmaceuticals, as well as visits to major sites in Pyongyang and the first Western excursion in over five years to Mount Myohyang. North Korea has admitted only a handful of foreign visitors since easing its pandemic border closure, including runners at April’s Pyongyang marathon, but has tightened scrutiny of online content produced inside the country.
