At the time, the stolen assets were valued at $41.5 million but are now worth over $1 billion. This heist is part of a broader pattern of cyberattacks attributed to North Korea, which has reportedly amassed $3.6 billion through similar operations over six years. Additionally, North Korean hackers have employed tactics such as LinkedIn scams, using fake recruiter profiles and malware, to steal millions in cryptocurrency.
