Following severe flooding in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Pakistan, the federal government and provincial authorities have mobilized extensive relief efforts. Under the Prime Minister's directive, federal ministers are actively participating in flood relief operations in the affected districts. The Pakistan Army, acting on orders from the Army Chief, is distributing rations in flood-hit areas. KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur emphasized the province's financial stability and self-sufficiency, stating that the government does not require external aid but welcomes voluntary assistance. He assured that damages caused by the floods will be compensated. The Chief Minister also announced plans to relocate displaced communities and allocated 3 billion Pakistani rupees for road restoration. Mobile operators have offered free calls in the flood-affected regions to facilitate communication. Internationally, Pakistan's Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi received calls from the UK Foreign Secretary, and foreign ministers of Somalia and Uzbekistan, expressing condolences and solidarity over the loss of lives. Political leaders in KP have pledged to set aside political differences to focus on relief efforts.
