Pakistan's Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has launched an artificial intelligence-driven customs clearance and risk management system aimed at enhancing trade efficiency, reducing human intervention, and improving transparency. The initiative was announced by the Prime Minister's office and is expected to streamline customs processes. In related enforcement activities, the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and FBR conducted joint operations against tax evasion, recovering Rs178 billion. Separately, Islamabad authorities have decided to implement advanced monitoring equipment to combat counterfeit and substandard medicines. Additionally, Birkenstock has intensified efforts to crack down on counterfeit products in India.
