Athletics Start Vertical Construction on $2 Billion Las Vegas Stadium, Play June 8-14 Games vs. Brewers and Rockies in 2026
The Oakland Athletics are progressing with the construction of their new $2 billion stadium on the Las Vegas Strip, with vertical construction set to begin by October 2025. Foundations have been completed, and crews are actively working on the site, keeping the project on track for a 2028 opening. Team president Marc Badain confirmed that owner John Fisher and his family have secured sufficient funding to cover the rising costs of the stadium. In the interim, the Athletics will play six regular-season games at the existing Las Vegas Ballpark during the 2026 MLB season. These games include two back-to-back series in June: June 8-10 against the Milwaukee Brewers and June 12-14 against the Colorado Rockies. This marks the franchise's first regular-season games in Southern Nevada, two years prior to the new stadium's debut. Details on game times and ticket sales are yet to be announced.
