
The U.S. government is intensifying its efforts against North Korean hacking groups by initiating legal action to seize approximately $879 million in cryptocurrency linked to the Lazarus Group and APT38. The Justice Department is targeting funds acquired through major cryptocurrency frauds and hacks, including $2.7 million traced through mixers like Tornado Cash and other crypto mixing services. An additional seizure involves 200,000 tether (USDT), worth $200,000, connected to fraudulent activities. These actions reflect the use of advanced tracing techniques to identify and recover stolen digital assets from cybercriminal groups, as part of broader measures to combat illicit financial activities facilitated by cryptocurrencies.
