The Russian Interior Ministry has apprehended three individuals linked to over 300 cybercrimes involving the Mamont malware. According to Irina Volk, the ministry's representative, the suspects developed the malicious software, which was disseminated through Telegram under the guise of applications and videos. This malware enabled the unauthorized transfer of funds from victims' bank accounts via SMS banking. Additionally, the ministry reported that scammers are exploiting residential chat groups to distribute phishing links, falsely claiming to offer free unwanted electronics and furniture.
