Al Nassr overcame a first-half red card to Sadio Mané to defeat Saudi Pro League champions Al Ittihad 2–1 in the Saudi Super Cup semifinal on Tuesday in Hong Kong. Mané opened the scoring in the 10th minute but was sent off roughly 15 minutes later after a VAR review of his challenge on goalkeeper Yousef, leaving the Riyadh club a player short for more than an hour. Steven Bergwijn equalised for Al Ittihad six minutes after the opener, yet Jorge Jesus’s side regained the lead on 62 minutes when Cristiano Ronaldo broke clear and squared for new signing Joao Felix to tap in his first goal for the club. A subsequent strike by Felix was ruled out for a foul in the build-up, and Al Nassr held on despite sustained pressure to secure a place in Saturday’s final. The victory gives the 40-year-old Ronaldo another chance to win his first official trophy with Al Nassr since joining in 2022. The team will face either Al Ahli or Al Qadisiyah in the decider, while Al Ittihad, led by Karim Benzema, exit the expanded four-team tournament that is being staged outside Saudi Arabia for the first time.
