Ubisoft has announced that Assassin’s Creed Mirage, released in 2023, will receive a free downloadable content pack later this year. The update adds a new story chapter and missions set in ninth-century AlUla, an ancient oasis city in what is now Saudi Arabia, and will ship alongside gameplay improvements that apply to both the base game and the new location. The surprise expansion follows reports that Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, acting through its games unit Savvy Games, provided financial backing for additional Mirage content—an arrangement Ubisoft has not publicly addressed. The move deepens the French publisher’s ties to Gulf investment while extending Mirage’s lifespan beyond its originally stand-alone plan.
