Volkswagen Group Singapore said on 18 Aug 2025 that it has begun accepting cryptocurrency payments for new vehicles and after-sales services, after signing a partnership with local payments platform FOMO Pay. Customers can now settle purchases in Bitcoin, Ethereum and the U.S.-dollar-pegged stablecoins USDT and USDC, with additional tokens to be added later, the companies said. The service is available immediately across Volkswagen’s dealership network in the city-state. The initiative makes the German automaker one of the first major car retailers in Singapore to integrate digital-asset payments, underscoring the city-state’s push to position itself as a regulated hub for crypto transactions. Volkswagen said the pilot will help it gauge consumer demand as it evaluates broader adoption in other markets.
