Real Madrid held a private ceremony at its Valdebebas training complex on 17 July to mark the departure of long-serving winger Lucas Vázquez. Club president Florentino Pérez accompanied the 34-year-old as he posed with the 23 trophies he collected during a decade in the first team, among them five Champions League crowns and four La Liga titles. Spanish and French media reported that only two current squad members—Kylian Mbappé and goalkeeper Andriy Lunin—interrupted their summer break to attend, while former captain Marcelo also travelled for the tribute. Photographs released by the club showed the quartet alongside Vázquez and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup in front of teammates’ and staff. Vázquez joined Real Madrid’s academy in 2007 and made his senior debut in 2015. In a recorded message he said every stage at the club had been "a gift" and that although he was leaving, "Madrid will never leave me." Real Madrid has not yet disclosed the player’s next destination.
