Villarreal CF has agreed to sign Portuguese midfielder Renato Veiga from Chelsea FC in a deal worth about €29.5 million, including €25 million up-front and €4.5 million in performance-related add-ons. The agreement, which contains a substantial sell-on clause, represents the largest transfer fee in the Spanish club’s history. Veiga has accepted personal terms and is scheduled to undergo a medical on Thursday before completing the move. Chelsea’s parent company, BlueCo, moved simultaneously to strengthen its own pipeline by reaching an agreement with Brighton & Hove Albion for Paraguay international Julio Enciso. The 21-year-old midfielder is expected to spend the 2025-26 season on loan at BlueCo-owned RC Strasbourg before joining Chelsea. Financial terms for Enciso’s transfer were not disclosed.
