West Ham United has reached an agreement with Southampton FC to sign midfielder Matheus Fernandes for an initial £38 million. The arrangement also includes up to £3 million in performance-related add-ons and a 15 percent sell-on clause payable to Southampton on any future transfer. Fernandes, 27, joined Southampton in 2024 and quickly became a key figure in the club’s midfield, registering seven goals and nine assists in all competitions last season as the Saints secured promotion back to the Premier League. He is expected to travel to London for a medical later this week before finalising personal terms and completing the move.
