Epic Games has refreshed its weekly giveaway, making the award-winning point-and-click adventure Machinarium and the party racer Make Way free to claim on the Epic Games Store. The promotion, which runs through 11:00 a.m. ET on 4 September, is part of the publisher’s ongoing strategy to draw users to its PC and newly launched mobile storefronts by offering permanent library additions at no cost. Epic said the next titles in the rotation will be strategy hit The Battle of Polytopia and the acclaimed puzzle game Monument Valley, both scheduled to become available on 5 September. The company has run a similar program on iOS and Android since opening its mobile store earlier this year, mirroring the weekly cadence adopted on PC. Separately, Amazon’s Prime Gaming service introduced its latest bundle of complimentary PC downloads, headlined by Heroes of Loot 2, Fantasy Empires, and City Legends: The Ghost of Misty Hill Collector’s Edition. The offers underscore intensifying competition among digital storefronts to lock in subscribers through a steady stream of free content.
