TRON DAO said on 19 August that MetaMask, the self-custodial crypto wallet developed by Consensys, will add native support for the TRON network, extending the wallet’s reach beyond its Ethereum roots. The integration will allow MetaMask’s global user base to hold and transact TRON-based tokens and interact with the chain’s decentralised applications without additional network configurations. “Integrating TRON into this platform not only broadens access for users worldwide but also reinforces TRON’s position as a foundational infrastructure layer for global digital finance,” TRON DAO spokesperson Sam Elfarra said. Angel Gonzalez-Capizzi, director of business development at MetaMask, called the move part of the wallet’s effort “to make MetaMask the most versatile and user-friendly gateway to Web3.” TRON hosts the largest supply of Tether’s USDT stablecoin—more than $82 billion—and has recorded more than 324 million user accounts, 11 billion transactions and about $26 billion in total value locked, according to figures cited in the announcement. The partners plan joint marketing campaigns and said further technical details on the rollout will be released over the coming months.
