South Africa have named fast bowler Kagiso Rabada in both their one-day international and Twenty20 squads for next month’s tour of England, despite the player still recovering from inflammation in his right ankle. Head coach Shukri Conrad said Rabada will be reassessed on arrival and may be eased into the three-match ODI series scheduled for 2–7 September, with priority placed on having him fully fit for the T20 leg that follows. The 15-man ODI squad will again be led by Temba Bavuma, while Aiden Markram captains an expanded T20 group. Left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj returns to the T20 setup after a hiatus, and pace-bowling all-rounder Marco Jansen has been cleared following a thumb injury. Fast bowler Lizaad Williams is also back, bolstering depth alongside teenage seamer Kwena Maphaka, who travels as cover for Rabada. South Africa have further strengthened their batting with the recall of veteran finisher David Miller and big-hitting Donovan Ferreira, both currently featuring in England’s Hundred competition. The Proteas will fly in directly from Australia, where they hold a 2-0 lead in an ongoing 50-over series, before beginning the England tour that comprises three ODIs and three T20 internationals.
