Spain-based quantum software company Multiverse Computing has raised $215 million (approximately €189 million) in a Series B funding round, marking one of the largest investments in the Spanish tech ecosystem this year. The company specializes in quantum-inspired AI model compression technology, which can reduce large language models (LLMs) by up to 95%, enabling faster and more cost-effective AI deployment on devices such as smartphones and laptops. Multiverse Computing currently serves around 100 clients and plans to scale the deployment of its CompactifAI technology. Separately, Israeli AI-native data security startup Cyera secured $540 million in a funding round led by Georgian, Greenoaks, and Lightspeed, doubling its valuation to $6 billion from $3 billion in November 2024. Cyera aims to use the capital to expand its AI-powered data security platform and enhance its partner ecosystem. Additionally, Spain’s biotech sector is showing signs of maturation, highlighted by Splicebio’s $135 million Series B funding, the largest ever for a Spain-based biotech company.
