Turkish Airlines has agreed to acquire a minority stake of approximately 26-27% in the Spanish airline Air Europa through a binding offer following an agreement with the Hidalgo family, the current owners. The transaction involves a €300 million investment structured as a convertible loan into shares. This acquisition is subject to approval by the Spanish government and competition authorities. The deal marks Turkish Airlines' strategic expansion in Europe and provides the carrier with enhanced access to the Latin American market.
