The Indiana Fever throttled the Las Vegas Aces 81-54 in Indianapolis on Thursday, ending a 16-game skid against the two-time champions and earning their first victory over Las Vegas since 2019. Guard Kelsey Mitchell led Indiana with 25 points and six assists, while Aliyah Boston added 20 points and seven rebounds. Commissioner’s Cup MVP Natasha Howard supplied 11 points and 10 boards as the Fever shot 49 percent from the field and built a 46-24 halftime cushion after hitting 14-of-16 shots in the second quarter. Indiana’s defense held the Aces to a season-low 26 percent shooting and forced 17 turnovers. A’ja Wilson scored 29 points, but the rest of Las Vegas combined to shoot just 7-for-43. No other Ace reached double figures. Playing without injured rookie star Caitlin Clark for a fourth straight game, the Fever improved to 9-8 and stretched their winning streak to three outings, a run that began with Tuesday’s Commissioner’s Cup triumph. The Aces slipped to 8-9 as their offensive struggles continued.
