Bitcoin has surpassed Amazon to become the fifth largest asset globally by market capitalization, reaching over $2 trillion. As of May 9, 2025, Bitcoin's market cap stood at approximately $2.054 trillion, exceeding Amazon's $2.039 trillion. This places Bitcoin behind only gold, Microsoft, Apple, and Nvidia in terms of asset value. Bitcoin's price recently broke above $104,361, marking a gain of more than 5%, and it is currently about 5% to 6% below its all-time high. The cryptocurrency's rapid ascent has moved it from seventh place just over a week ago to the top five, with speculation that it could reach the top three largest assets by the end of 2025.
