Ethereum treasury firm BTCS has offered investors a one-time payment for making their shares illiquid on Monday, saying that it would help them foil Wall Street short sellers. https://t.co/g1GhKHCdcL
BTCS, a publicly traded company focused on Ethereum treasury management, announced it will issue a one-time blockchain dividend, termed a "Bividend," paying shareholders $0.05 per share in Ethereum (ETH). In addition to this dividend, BTCS will provide a $0.35 per share loyalty payment to shareholders who transfer their shares to the company's book and hold them through January 26, 2026. This combined payout totals $0.40 per share. The initiative makes BTCS the first publicly traded company to pay dividends in ETH. The loyalty payment is designed to discourage short selling by incentivizing investors to keep their shares illiquid, thereby aiming to protect shareholder value amid shares trading at a discount to the company’s holdings.
